Flora Chavez-Finch
Married 37 years, 2 children, 5 grandchildren.
Graduated from Carl Hayden high school 1965.
Graduated from Phoenix Academy in Cosmetology 1966.
Owned and managed several salons in the Valley.
Have done platform work for many professional manufacturers/ also workshops and product knowledge classes all over Arizona.
Graduated as a Cosmetology instructor in 1978 from Phoenix Academy of Beauty.
Educator for Phoenix Academy of Beauty.
Educator for Western School of Beauty in Glendale Arizona.
Educator Pivot Point technique workshops.
Began teaching and coordinating the cosmetology program for Northland Pioneer College from 1984 to the present.
The program traveled between Winslow and Show Low for 17 years. This move made the program available to everyone in the county, while giving the communities time to absorb the graduates. Today the program has grown from one instructor to five to accommodate over one hundred students at both the Winslow and the Show Low and Chinle locations. All the teachers rotate to both locations to maintain the goal of "one program at multiple sites."
1984 and 1985 received the Teacher of the year award at Northland Pioneer college.
1986 received my AAS degree from Northland Pioneer College.
1990 received my AA degree from Northland Pioneer College.
2000 now a senior at Northern Arizona University.
2000 Instructor/Coordinator of the NPC Cosmetology program in Winslow Show Low and Chinle. The Show Low and Winslow programs include full-time students, Navit students who attend high school half a day and Cosmetology program half a day. We also teach the Nail Technicians program, and the Instructors program.
