Music Expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.

Performing Arts Scholarships

Scholarship money is available for individuals who will be full-time NPC students and participants in the Music program. Students are eligible to receive scholarships in the range of $500-$1200  to help defray the cost of tuition and textbooks. Given NPC's low tuition rates, these scholarships can enable a student to complete the first two years of their higher education without accumulating significant debt. Music Scholarship Auditions coincide with auditions for our performing ensembles.  For information on the auditions or Music scholarships contact 928-536-6217 (Performing Arts Chair office number)

Music Education

NPC's Music Department focuses on nurturing and developing students' talents in both the theoretical, technical and performing disciplines. Small classes help foster meaningful relationships with fellow students and their instructors. This "family atmosphere" extends from the traditional course offerings - Music Appreciation, Music Fundamentals, Music Theory and Ear-training, Music Composition, Beginning and Advanced Conducting and Private Instruction - to a challenging performance repertoire ranging from jazz to contemporary to classical.

The Northland Master Chorale and NPC Bands have become a staple at Northland Pioneer College.  These ensembles have upheld a long standing tradition of excellence in performance throughout the college's existence.  Students come together from all parts of the college district to to further the cultural growth of the region and perfect their performance skills.  The Northland Master Chorale has performed with regional favorites such as the White Mountain Symphony Orchestra and taken various tours of the United States.
