Teacher Education Program

Teaching is not for everyone. To be an effective classroom teacher you need special skills, knowledge and a strong desire to make a difference. Teaching has been termed a noble profession, a chance to influence generations to come and the opportunity to impart knowledge while performing a service of vital importance to American society.

Teaching is an art and a science. The Teacher Education Program at Northland Pioneer College prepares you to enter the profession with a strong theoretical background and the skills necessary to succeed. After four semesters at NPC you will be ready for transfer, as a junior, to a university where you can complete your BA degree and your initial teacher certification program.
