Outdoor Studio is a nature based art course. Students will learn to see and use the elements and principles of design found in nature through gathering inspiration provided by the landscape and develop conceptual ideas arising in the specific landscape to work into their artwork. Personal relationships with the land will be investigated as well as interdisciplinary concepts. Students may work in a variety of mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpture, and photography. Informal critiques and dialogue will be provided though-out the course. The college, with the submission of a liability waiver, provides transportation to the sites.
Camping and hotel accommodations will be booked thru the instructor and at the cost of the student. An option for both camping and hotel arrangements will be available. Camping is encouraged and will be at the site, the hotels may be some driving distance from the site. Contact instructor for more information.
