Automotive Technology

Program designed for students who wish to become professional automotive technicians. With the continuous use of electronic systems and on-board computers, there will be a constant demand for highly skilled, well-trained automotive technicians. Students in the Automotive Technology Program will receive quality classroom instructoion as well as hands-on laboratory experience using state-of-the-art diagnostic test equipment. Upon completion of the program, the student will receive a Certfificate of Applied Science in Automotive Technolgoy

Certificate of Applied Science

To earn a Certificate of Applied Science in Automotive Technology, a student must complete the following core requirements plus MAT 101 and ENL 101.

• ATO 100 Engine Repair • 5 cr.
• ATO 101 Safety and Hazardous Materials • 1 cr.
• ATO 102 Engine Performance • 3 cr.
• ATO 104 Automatic Transmission Systems • 1 cr.
• ATO 106 Brake Systems • 4 cr.
• ATO 200 Electrical and Electronic Systems • 7 cr.
• ATO 202 Heating and Air Conditioning Systems • 4 cr.
• ATO 204 Manual Drive Train • 2 cr.
• ATO 206 Suspension and Steering Systems • 5 cr.
